In an effort to bring greater exposure to its motion pictures, a delegation of 20 French filmmakers and repre-sentatives will arrive next month in Los Angeles for a weeklong exhibition.“City of Lights, City of Angels: A Week of New French Films” from April 8-12 will bring together French writer-directors such as Claude Lelouch and Bertrand Tavernier with a delegation of U.S. writers, directors and produc-ers. The five-day event at the Directors Guild of America Theatre will also include a midweek panel discussion with artists and film executives. The six new French pics being screened include “The Apartment” by writer-director Gilles Mimouni, “Nenette and Boni” directed by Claire Denis, “My Sex Life, or How I Got Into That Argument” directed by Arnaud Desplechin, “Men, Women: User’s Manual” directed by Lelouch, “Will There Be Snow for Christmas?” by writer-director San-drine Veysset and “Captain Conan” directed by Tavernier. The event is being co-sponsored by the Franco-American Cultural Fund, Directors Guild of America, Motion Pic-ture Assn. and Writers Guild of America. The program will be presented by the UCLA Film and Television Ar-chive as well as France’s ARP in association with The French Hollywood Circle and UniFrance.
