CHILE

Paul Oneill, president-CEO of UIP, said last week that Chile represents 3% of international revenues for his company but that, given the country’s multiplex explosion, this could well increase to 5% in the foreseeable future.

Oneill’s three-day visit to Santiago coincided with the opening of Hoyts’ second multiplex, an eight-screener in Puente Alto, a populous suburb close to Santiago.

The opening of another Hoyts eightplex in the capital’s downtown area is expected in mid-December.
