Completing the reorganization of its corporate suite, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced Thursday that top corporate spokesman and strategic planner Bruce Redditt would receive a stripes upgrade to corporate exec VP of corporate communications and governmental relations.
Redditt, who was senior veepee previously, continues to report to corporate exec VP Yuki Nozoe, but adds responsibility for streamlining and organizing the totality of SPE’s communications to the outside world.
“The responsibilities for communications within each of the SPE divisions remain the same,” Redditt said, “but now we have completed our intended integration of the communications flow.”
As someone with re-engineering experience (as onetime corporate marketing chieftain for GTE Corp.), Redditt also will be working closely with SPE co-president Bob Wynne and recently upped exec veep Beth Berke to bring new efficiencies to the studio’s corporate rank and file.
“Bruce has played a major role in helping Sony and SPE establish a stronger and more credible image in the entertainment business, both internally and externally,” remarked Nozoe.
Redditt now joins the seven other existing and/or recently promoted “second-tier” SPE corporate execs who provide the senior “Gang of Four” — prexy/chief operating officer John Calley, Wynne and fellow co-prexy Jeff Sagansky, and Nozoe — with immediate support and also as conduits to the rest of management and the rest of the world.
“(Redditt) is an integral member of our team,” added Calley, “and we look to him to continue building better communications coordination and continuity as we move ahead.”
Redditt came to Sony from GTE in July 1995; he was corporate veepee, public affairs & communications, when he ankled the telco, where he’d toiled for nine years.
