‘Titanic’ dessert of culinary proportions

While the rest of the country still waits for the film version of the Titanic to arrive, New Yorkers now have a culinary version of the epic sea disaster in addition to a musical one.

Publicists for the Broadway show “Titanic” announced that the restaurant Serendipity 3 will add “Broadway’s Titanic Sundae” to their menu starting Thursday.

The restaurant says, “The majestic sundae is a sinking ship filled with vanilla ice cream, marshmallow and walnut toppings, with mini Oreo cookie portholes and towering chocolate-dipped wafer smokestacks, all sinking into an ocean of blue whipped cream colliding into a marshmallow iceberg.”

No word on whether survivors of the $12.50 sundae receive antacid tablets shaped like life preservers.
