Revs rise 1% to just under $12 mil

NEW YORK — Broadway held even during Week 28 (Dec. 8-14), with receipts rising 1% to $11,970,955, and attendance falling a minuscule 0.9% to 242,326.

Two shows opened: the Jack Klugman-Tony Randall starrer “The Sunshine Boys” at the Lyceum, and the revival of Arthur Miller’s “A View From the Bridge” at the Roundabout.

Receipts for the musicals totaled $10,449,941, 87.3% of the Broadway total, with paid attendance of 202,522 at 81.5% of musical capacity. Receipts for the plays totaled $1,521,014, 12.7% of the Broadway total, with paid attendance of 39,804 at 71.7% of play capacity.

Average ticket prices were $49.40 for all shows, $51.60 for musicals and $38.21 for plays.
