Brian Yuzna is directing “Progeny,” a $6 million sci-fi thriller that recently began principal photography in and around Los Angeles.
Yuzna’s previous credits include directing and producing “Return of the Living Dead III” and co-producing “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”
The story of a young E.R. doctor whose wife is impregnated by an alien, “Progeny” stars South African thesp Arnold Vosloo and Jillian McWhirter (the upcoming “Strangeland”). Rounding out the cast are Brad Dourif (“One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”), Lindsay Crouse (“Places in the Heart”) and Wilford Brimley (“In & Out”).
Producers are Jack F. Murphy and Henry Seggerman, and exec producers are Stuart Gordon, Charles M. Fries and Murray Schultz. The project was financed by a group of international distributors and Imperial Bank. Fries/Schulz Group is handling foreign sales for the film.
