Women in Film calls for noms

Women in Film is calling for nominations for the second annual Kodak Vision Award, to be presented to a female cinematographer with exceptional achievements in feature or documentary filmmaking.

The recipient will be honored at the WIF Crystal Award Luncheon on June 13 at the Century Plaza Hotel.

The winner will be selected by an “independent blue ribbon panel” of women working in film, including cinematographers, producers and directors, according to WIF.

“This award is designed to recognize and encourage both the pursuit of artistic excellence and diversity in the important file of cinematography,” WIF president Iris Grossman said. “Qualifications include both personal achievement and a commitment to mentoring and assisting other women who are striving to establish careers as cinematographers and camera crew members.”

Last year’s winner was Roxanne di Santo.

Kodak is sponsoring the award, which includes $5,000 worth of Kodak film.

The winner will be announced on May 21 at the Women in Film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

For information about submissions, contact WIF at (213) 463-6040.
