NEW YORK — Marlo Thomas has landed a role in the indie film “Starfucker” (aka “Dust and Stardust”), currently in production in L.A.
Thomas joins Loren Dean, Bridgette Wilson and Jamie Kennedy in the pic, which is produced by Bandeira Entertainment’s Jonathan King, Beau Flynn and Stefan Simchowitz. Newly formed indie banner In D 500 is exec producing along with Dan Stone and Henry Shea of Persistent Pictures. The film will be the helming debut for screenwriter John Enbom.
Set in Hollywood, the action surrounds a young wannabe screenwriter (Kennedy) who forms a friendship with a washed-up teen idol. As they slowly slip into poverty, they hatch a bizarre plot to kidnap a celebrity’s dog.
Thomas will play the hapless screenwriter’s mother, a portable-phone toting, high-powered real estate agent.
She will next be seen in Tom DiCillo’s “The Real Blonde,” which stars Matthew Modine and Daryl Hannah. She was nominated for an Emmy last year for her guest role as Jennifer Aniston’s mother on NBC’s “Friends.”
Thomas is repped by her manager, Rob Lee of Elephant Walk Entertainment, as well as Joanne Roberts, Peter Levine and Perry Kipperman, her agents at William Morris.
