NEW YORK — Paul Sorvino, John Glover, Tony Roberts and Jill Hennessy (“Law and Order”) are starring in Edward Vilga’s low-budget indie “Dead Broke,” which begins lensing in Gotham in September.
A neo-noir pic about a detective investigating a murder in Brooklyn, “Broke” marks the feature debut of thesp-author-legit producer Vilga, whose short “Peephole” screened at the 1996 Hamptons Intl. Film Festival and other fests. He has produced seven Off Broadway productions with the Watermark Theater, including Susan Miller’s “My Left Breast.”
“Broke” is being produced by Genevieve Lohman, who has produced promotional and musicvideos for ABC News, Sony, GRP and Seneca Falls. She has worked as an assistant director and location manager on several indie films. Among them are Nick Gomez’s “Laws of Gravity,” Suzanne Meyer’s “Alchemy” and Richard Shepard’s “Mercy.”
Watermark Theater artistic director and founder Nela Wagman is co-producing “Broke.”
