Focus Media Inc. will handle media buying for DreamWorks’ theatrical releases. Focus Media, based in Santa Monica, also handles media placement for Sears and U.S. Robotics. Focus developed “Sears Family Theater” in 1991 with the purchase of the TV rights to Steven Spielberg’s “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial.”

Nu Image has embarked on another in its “Operation Delta Force” series, with production set to begin on the third in the series, titled “Clear Target.” Production was recently completed on the second pic, “Operation Delta Force: Mayday.” First pic was “Operation Delta Force: Critical Move.” The pics are made in the $3 million to $7 million range and shot in South Africa. Danny Lerner is producer and the third pic is directed by Mark Roper. Nu Image is headed by Avi Lerner and Danny Dimbort.

HBO NYC Prods. has acquired the film rights to Terry McMillan’s bestselling novel “Disappearing Acts.” McMillan is the author of “Waiting to Exhale,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” and “Mama.”

Veteran composer Elmer Bernstein, who won an Oscar for the 1967 feature “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and an Emmy for his contribution to the documentary “The Making of a President,” has been inked to write the main themes and conduct the score for the upcoming TNT original miniseries “Rough Riders” from director John Milius.
