‘Prophet’ finds Belateche

Writer-director Irving Belateche has signed a pay-or-play deal to direct “The Prophet’s Game” for Moondancer Entertainment.

The thriller, about a trivia game run by an assassin, currently is out to talent for casting.

Belateche also is attached to direct “Wishful Thinking,” which he co-wrote with Webb Millsaps. The pic will star Robert Patrick (“Terminator 2: Judgment Day”). The pic is being produced by Vicki Pike and Brad Luff, and is financed by a consortium of foreign distributors.

Belateche, a recent graduate of USC Film School, previously wrote and directed the award-winning short “Saving Souls.” The film was in competition as a U.S. entry for the British Academy of Film & Television Arts awards.

ICM’s Stuart Fry and attorney Jeff Frankel negotiated the directing deals for Belateche.
