Perry joins cast of indie ‘Florentine’

Coppola, Cowan set to exec produce

Luke Perry has joined the cast of indie feature, “The Florentine,” a co-production of Initial Entertainment Group and American Zoetrope.

Nick Stagliano is directing from a screenplay by Damien Gray and Tom Benson. Stagliano and Benson are producing, and Francis Ford Coppola and IEG’s Cindy Cowan are exec producing.

“The Florentine” is described as a dramatic comedy about a circle of friends just crossing the threshold into adulthood. Principal photography began last week in Pennsylvania.

Perry’s deal was negotiated by CAA’s Jonathan Ruiz and Steve Tellez, and David Feldman of Bloom, Hergott, Cook, Diemer and Klien. He’s managed by Cyd Levin and Steve Himber.
