Par snags rights to ‘Little Tree’

CANNES — Paramount Pictures has picked up domestic and most international rights to “The Education of Little Tree” from producer Jake Eberts.

Largo Entertainment, which has been handling the film internationally, retains distrib rights in Spain.

Paramount, Largo and Eberts could not be reached for comment.

The coming-of-age story about a half-Indian boy in the 1930s was written and directed by Richard Friedenberg, and stars James Cromwell, Graham Greene and Tantoo Cardinal.
