P’gram sates Jones

U.K. producer pacts for first-look deal

LONDON — Up-and-coming British producer Robert Jones has signed a three-year first-look deal with Polygram Filmed Entertainment.

Jones, whose credits include “The Usual Suspects” and Cannes fest entry “The Serpent’s Kiss,” is in post-production with “Dad Savage,” which he is co-producing with Gwyneth Lloyd for Polygram.

His production outfit, dubbed the Jonescompany, was a partner with Polygram’s Working Title Films and Andrew Eaton and Michael Winterbottom’s Revolution Films in a failed bid for a lottery franchise. He also previously worked as an acquisitions exec for Polygram.

Stewart Till, PFE’s president of international, commented, “Polygram is delighted to have secured a production deal with one of the leading independent producers in the British film industry who, from his extensive experience in both distribution and production, has great commercial instincts in the international marketplace.”
