NEW YORK — Thelma Adams of the New York Post has been elected chair of the New York Film Critics Circle, succeeding Bob Campbell of Newhouse Newspapers.
Godfrey Cheshire of New York Press was elected vice chairman of the org. Cheshire also contributes to Daily Variety.
Three new members have been added to the organization: Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal, Leah Rozen of People magazine and Lisa Schwarzbaum of Entertainment Weekly.
The New York Film Critics Circle will announce the winners for its 63rd annual awards on Dec. 11. The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center.
The circle was founded in 1935 as an association of critics from major New York-based newspapers and magazines.
