Former Canal Plus international sales exec Andrew Milner has been tapped to succeed William Moraskie as president of Capella Intl. in a move confirmed by Capella Films president Andreas Lindstroem.
Milner had been exec VP of domestic and international sales for Canal Plus since 1995.
The transition is expected to take place early next year and will see Moraskie moving into an active consultancy role with the Germany-based company’s foreign sales division.
Moraskie headed Capella Intl. for the seven years since the company’s inception. A veteran of the international film distribution business (he began with Columbia Pictures Intl. in 1951), Moraskie is a co-founder of the American Film Marketing Assn. and is on the indie org’s board of directors.
Under Moraskie, Capella has released such pics as “My Life,” “Nobody’s Fool,” “The Real McCoy” and the current “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” which begins its overseas rollout this fall.
