NEW YORK — MGM has paid low against mid-six figures for “Calling of Angels,” a gothic love story with horror elements penned by Patrick Massett, sources said.
The film is about a young couple. He’s a doctor and she’s a grad student in Eastern religions. When she becomes possessed, he must abandon his own beliefs to save her.
The film was brought in by MGM exec Yalda Tehranian and the deal brokered by Gersh’s Sandra Lucchesi and manager Paul Rosenberg. It will be produced by Jim Steele and Jonathan Dana.
“Angels” is Massett’s first spec sale.
