‘Mattie’ delayed

World Brief

Shooting has been postponed until February on a $7.5 million Irish black comedy called “Mattie,” due to commence Nov. 3.

Producer Jo Manuel cited the fact that the shooting schedule ran over Christmas as the main reason for its deferral, stressing that “It’s nothing to do with the finance.”

Pic, penned by veteran scribe Hugh Leonard (“Da,” “Widow’s Peak”) stars Mia Farrow as an abandoned, has-been soap star who meets a charming serial killer.

Thesps Terence Stamp, Timothy Hutton, Priscilla Presley and Spike Milligan were penciled in for first-time feature helmer Declan Lowney, who has directed three segs of the acclaimed Channel 4 comedy hit “Father Ted.” Hutton, however, may not be available for reskedded date.
