NEW YORK — Daniel Lapaine (“Muriel’s Wedding”) has joined Claire Danes, Kate Beckinsale and Bill Pullman in “Brokedown Palace,” which Jonathan Kaplan is helming for Fox 2000.
Lapaine will play a mysterious Australian who charms two young women vacationing in Southeast Asia. David Arata wrote the screenplay from a story by Adam Fields, who is also producing.
Lapaine will next be seen in Fox Searchlight’s “Polish Wedding,” Miramax’s “54” and New Regency’s “The Honest Courtesan.” He also appears in the indie film “Say You’ll Be Mine.”
His deal was brokered by his agents Mike Nilon and Kim Hodgert of CAA and his manager Zoe Bruns.
