Kaminski takes helm of ‘Souls

“Lost Souls,” which has no talent attached, is a psychological thriller about a devoutly religious woman who has to convince a prosecutor he’s the target of a conspiracy that will allow the devil to walk the Earth in human form.

Pierce Gardner scripted and will get story co-credit along with Betsy Stahl. The pair also will exec produce.

Ryan and her partner, Nina Sadowsky, are producing through their Prufrock Pictures.

“New Line has a long history of fostering creative talent and giving first-time directors a chance,” said Michael De Luca, prexy of production for New Line. “Janusz has established a reputation for excellence and we look forward to working with him on what we hope will be the first of many projects together.”

Other Kaminski d.p. credits include “Jerry Maguire” and “How to Make an American Quilt.”

De Luca and creative exec Donna Langley will oversee the project for the studio. Kaminski’s deal was brokered by ICM agents Paul Hook, Barbara Dreyfus and Ben Smith.
