Hughes inks for role in ‘Simon’

Miko Hughes, the 11-year-old thesp from “Zeus and Roxanne,” has inked to star with Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin in “Simon” for Imagine Entertainment and Universal Pictures.

Hughes will play an autistic savant who breaks a code of a secret government military operation. Willis plays an outcast FBI agent who protects the kid from a power-hungry government official (Baldwin).

Pic starts lensing next week in Chicago under Harold Becker’s direction. Lawrence Konner, Mark Rosenthal, Janet Peoples and David Peoples scripted.

Ric Kidney is producing for Imagine.

Hughes is also out this summer in New Line Cinema’s “Spawn.” His deal was brokered by Chris Schmidt and Suzanne Bennett of Writers & Artists Agency.
