‘Homegrown’ in the can

Kelly Lynch, Hank Azaria and Ryan Phillipe have wrapped shooting on the Stephen Gyllenhaal-helmed “Homegrown.”

The black comedy also stars “Slingblade” director-writer-star Billy Bob Thornton (Daily Variety, Oct. 2), and features cameo appearances by Jamie Lee Curtis, John Lithgow, Judge Reinhold and Jon Bon Jovi.

The story follows three workers on a Northern California pot plantation (Thornton, Azaria and Phillipe) who try unsuccessfully to continue running the farm after they discover the owner murdered.

Gyllenhaal (“A Dangerous Woman,” “Losing Isaiah”) co-wrote the script with Nick Kazan (“Reversal of Fortune,” “Matilda”). The Lakeshore Entertainment and Underdog Films production is produced by Jason Clark.
