Kate Hudson, the 18-year-old daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, has landed her first feature role in “Ricochet River,” an indie production from Dee Gee Entertainment now in pre-production.
The low-budget theatrical will be shot in and around Eugene, Ore., with principal photography commencing July 12. Dee Gee principals Gigi Pritzker and Deborah Del Prete will produce and direct, respectively. Screenplay by Patrick O’Connor is based on novel of the same name by Robin Cody.
Hudson, who has done a pair of cameos on the Fox series “Party of Five,” will play one of three high school friends in “Ricochet River,” described as a “modern coming-of-age story” set in the Pacific Northwest.
Deal was brokered by Hudson’s agents at ICM, Jason Barrett and Steve Dontanville.
