Hannah latest ‘Martian’ sighting

Darryl Hannah has joined Walt Disney Pictures’ “My Favorite Martian” as the best friend of news reporter Jeff Daniels, the studio confirmed Thursday.

Hannah co-stars with Daniels, Elizabeth Hurley, Christopher Lloyd and Ray Walston in the feature version of the 1960s TV skein that starred Walston and Bill Bixby.

Donald Petrie is helming. Robert Shapiro, Jerry Leider and Barry Bernardi are producing.

The pic updates the series, which was about a Martian who crash-lands on Earth and, while trying to fix his ship to return home, lives with a young reporter. The reporter was not allowed to tell anyone the truth about his “Uncle Martin.”

Walston, almost reprising his TV role, plays a Martian who crash-landed many years ago and was forced to stay on Earth.

Hannah recently wrapped “The Real Blonde” and “Gingerbread Man” at Paramount.

Manager Chuck Binder and attorney Marvin Meyer repped Hannah in the deal.
