The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. distributed $300,000 in donations Aug. 27 at its annual installment honoring its new slate of officers and board members. The Beverly Hills event was moderated by James Woods.

Francis Ford Coppola accepted a $100,000 donation on behalf of the Film Foundation and Sharon Stone accepted a $40,000 gift to the American Foundation for AIDS Research and the Elizabeth Taylor Foundation.

In addition, donations were presented to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Christopher Reeve Foundation, UCLA School of Theatre, Film & Television, USC School of Cinema-Television, CSU Northridge Dept. of Radio-Film-Television, Sundance Institute, American Film Institute, California Institute of the Arts School of Film and Video, American Film Institute Film Festival, KCET and Independent Feature Project West, Project Angel Food, Actors and Others for Animals, Love Is Feeding Everyone (L.I.F.E.) and Step Up on Second.

Separately, HWPA recently re-elected prexy Philip Berk introduced the organization new officers including VP Elmar Biebl, exec secretary Lowell Staine, treasurer Jack Tewksbury and board members Jean Cummings (chair), B.J. Franklin, Ahmed Lateef, Lorenzo Soria, Hans Spurkel and Theo Kingma (alternate.)
