NEW YORK — Thomas Guiry (“Lassie”) has joined the cast of Redeemable Features’ “The Hairy Bird,” which begins lensing next week in Toronto.
Written and directed by “Impromptu” scribe Sarah Kernochan, “Bird” stars Gaby Hoffmann and Kirsten Dunst (Daily Variety, May 13). The pic, which is being financed by Canada’s Alliance Communications, tells the story of a girls boarding school in the 1960s whose students are resisting efforts to make the campus co-educational.
Guiry, 16, is best known for his lead role in David Mickey Evans’ “The Sandlot.” His TV credits include Disney’s “Four Diamonds” and CBS’ “A Place to Be Loved.”
Guiry is repped by Rhonda Price at the Gersh Agency in New York.
