NEW YORK — Carla Gugino, who left her role as Michael J. Fox’s lover in “Spin City” when the show changed direction, will play the female lead in Paramount’s “Snake Eyes,” which Brian De Palma will direct with Nicolas Cage. The film starts production Aug. 4.
Gugino will follow that role by co-starring alongside Emma Thompson in “Judas Kiss.” Thompson’s producing with Beau Flynn, and Sebastian Gurierrez is directing his own script. The film is an indie set up with Flynn’s Band Eira Entertainment, producer of “House of Yes,” which Miramax purchased in January. Gugino plays the female in a couple of con artists who attempt to exploit a kidnap situation and are pursued by an FBI agent, to be played by Thompson. That film begins production in October.
Gugino, whose past film credits include “Miami Rhapsody” and “Michael,” is repped by William Morris’ Peter Levine and manager Molly Madden of 3 Arts, who will be exec producer on “Judas Kiss” with Daniel Rappaport. Gugino’s attorney is Patty Felker.
