French film students earn scholarships

The Directors Guild of America, the Motion Picture Assn., the Writers Guild of America and France’s Society of Authors, Composers and Editors of Music have collectively awarded a total of $30,000 in academic scholarships to be share equally among three French students.

Recipients of the money from the newly formed Franco-American Scholarship Fund are Patrice Cochet at the American Film Institute, Damienne Caron at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, and Gerard Brisson at the USC School of Cinema.
