Lena Evans, veteran post-production exec and former prexy of f/x house Optical Illusions, has signed on as exec vice president at Caliban Filmworks, a digital post house that creates special effects for movies, television and musicvideos in addition to a wide array of post-production services.
In her new post, Evans will work to expand Caliban’s digital effects division and heighten industry awareness of its creative services, according to Laurie Shearing, Caliban prexy and co-founder.
“Because we plan to intensify our focus on filmmaking, Lena’s guidance will allow us the opportunity to prove ourselves in that arena,” added Riccardo De Los Rios, Caliban co-founder and veepee.
Evans has been involved in the creation of effects for such films as “Jerry Maguire,” “The Nutty Professor” and “Masterminds.”
Prior to her appointment at Caliban, Evans performed dual president responsibilities at Optical Illusions and the Finish Line, a film completion company for independent filmmakers. Evans has also held marketing, sales and strategic planning positions at Digital Rezolution, Live Entertainment, Carolco Pictures, Global Entertainment Strategies and the Edward R. Pressman Film Corp.
