Ned Dowd, former president of production at Caravan Pictures, has signed a new production deal with the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, where he will produce two high-profile Touchstone Pictures films.
Dowd will produce both Michael Crichton’s “Airframe” and “Eaters of the Dead,” starring Antonio Banderas. Both projects will be produced with Crichton and director John McTiernan.
Dowd came to Caravan Pictures in 1993, where oversaw the production slate for the company run by Roger Birnbaum. Prior to that, he produced “State of Grace,” “Let It Ride” and with Caravan and Disney co-produced “The Three Musketeers.” He also had a co-producing credit on “The Last of the Mohicans.” In addition, he served as an assistant director on 34 films.
