DeVito and De Niro together for the first time? Danny DeVito is in the process of pounding out a deal to direct “The Little Things” for Warner Bros. and producer Mark Johnson, and Robert DeNiro is in serious discussions to star.
The project, written by John Lee Hancock, is about a washed-up veteran cop who teams up with a by-the-book homicide detective in the hunt for a serial killer.
The effort would be a decided turn for DeVito, who last directed the family film “Matilda.” “The Little Things” had garnered interest in the past from Matthew McConaughey, George Clooney and Clint Eastwood (to direct). DeVito and De Niro are both repped by CAA’s Fred Specktor.
