NEW YORK — Chris Cooper, who starred last year as a down-to-earth sheriff in John Sayles’ “Lone Star,” will join the cast of Robert Redford’s “The Horse Whisperer,” which stars Redford and Kristin Scott Thomas.
Later this week, Cooper will travel to Montana, where “Whisperer” is lensing, to play Redford’s brother, a hard-working rancher whose wife will be portrayed by Dianne Wiest. Cooper recently wrapped the HBO original movie “Breast Men,” in which he co-stars with David Schwimmer.
Later this year, he will be seen in 20th Century Fox’s “Great Expectations” and Showtime’s “Alone.” His recent credits include Joel Schumacher’s “A Time to Kill.”
Cooper’s deal was negotiated by his manager, Julie Yorn of Addis-Wechsler, and his agent, Michael Lazo of Paradigm.
