Columbia Pictures has picked up Matthew Chapman’s pitch “The Naked Man” for $1 million against $1.8 million as a project for Betty Thomas to direct, sources said Wednesday.
The pitch is about a man who loses his clothes and has to walk naked from Venice to Hollywood. Along the way, he gets noticed and quickly becomes a media celebrity.
Thomas and Jenno Topping are producing the pic.
Col senior VP of production Matt Tolmach, who brought the project into the studio, will oversee the pic.
L.A.-based agent David Lubliner and New York percenter Deborah Skelly, both of the William Morris Agency, brokered the deal for Chapman.
