Saffron Burrows, one of the ensemble in “Circle of Friends,” has inked for Woody Allen’s next pic, sources said Monday. The actress, 24, is also in final talks for Mike Figgis’ indie project “Short Stories.”
In the Allen film, Burrows will co-star with Kenneth Branagh, Kim Basinger, Leonardo DiCaprio and Judy Davis. Jean Doumanian is producing the pic, which is currently untitled and has no distrib. Allen recently announced that Fine Line Features will release his upcoming “Deconstructing Harry.”
For Figgis, Burrows would be the first thesp to be cast in a story that’s a re-telling of Adam and Eve. Annie Stewart is producing with Figgis.
Burrows is due onscreen Sept. 19 in “The Strangest Places” for Working Title Films. She has a cameo in Figgis’ “One Night Stand” for New Line Cinema, and is in Cineville Films’ upcoming “Lovelife” and “Nevada.”
Her deal for the Allen pic was brokered by CAA and manager Julie Yorn of Addis/Wechsler & Associates.
