‘Bridesmaids’ proposed for Katz, Imagine

Perry Katz Prods. and Imagine Entertainment have set up an original pitch by Joanne Waters (currently writing “The Bridge” for Paul Schiff at Fox). The price was undisclosed.

The pitch, which is called “Bridesmaids,” is a revenge comedy about a bride who is left standing at the altar by the groom and the ensuing battle of the sexes, led by the maid of honor on one side and the best man on the other.

The project is based on the firsthand experience of one of the producers.Perry Katz and Jill Arthur, VP of production at Perry Katz Prods., brought in the project with Imagine’s Karen Kehela and Julie Glucksman. The project will be produced by Imagine’s Brian Grazer. Katz will exec produce and Arthur will co-produce. Waters is repped by CAA’s Byrdie Lifson-Pompan and attorney David Weber.
