Consolidated Film Industries, one of the country’s largest motion picture film processing and post-production facilities, has tapped Bob Beitcher, an entertainment industry vet with expertise in the convergence of media and telecommunications, to serve as president as the company expands from traditional production services with cutting-edge digital technologies.
Beitcher replaces outgoing president Jerry Virnig, who will assume the role of company chairman.
Beitcher’s general management experience includes the post of vice president of business affairs at Lucasfilm Ltd. He has also served as manag-ing director for Jim Henson Prods., and exec VP of the motion pictures group at Paramount. He has also provided consulting services for Ameri-can Zoetrope, Sony Pictures Entertainment, King World Prods., AT&T and Hewlett-Packard.
CFI, which provides a range of traditional and cutting-edge digital pro-duction services related to film processing for features and television, has won 12 Academy Awards for technical and scientific achievement, and has served major movie studios as well as large-format film producers.
