Avital signs on for ‘Fool’

NEW YORK — Mili Avital (“Dead Man,” “Stargate”) has been cast opposite David Schwimmer in Doug Ellin’s “Kissing a Fool,” which currently is lensing in Chicago.

The romantic comedy was written by Ellin and James Frey. It also stars Bonnie Hunt and Jason Lee. Tag Mendillo, Andrew Form and Rick Lashbrook are producing the indie pic.

Avital recently wrapped “Animals,” the feature film debut of writer-director Michael Di Jiacomo that also stars Tim Roth, Red Steiger and Barbara Bain.

A leading stage and screen actress in her native Israel, Avital next will be seen with Claire Danes, Gabriel Byrne and Lena Olin in Fox Searchlight’s “Polish Wedding,” slated for release in February.

Avital is repped by Michael Davis and Jenny Gabler of CAA. Her manager is Myrna Jacoby.
