Art of War Prods., the Sony Pictures Entertainment-based indie production shingle headed up by ex-Sony marketing executive Marc Shmuger, has bought Irving Belateche, Webb Millsaps and Robert Kosberg’s pitch “Time Killers” for an unspecified sum.
Company principal Shmuger described the pitch as a unique murder mystery that concerns a modern-day cop who finds himself up against a serial killer from the future. Shmuger confirmed the pitch was bought with the shingle’s discretionary funds.
Belateche and Millsaps (who also wrote “Implicated” for Columbia TriStar Home Video, with Belateche directing) have been hired to write the script, while Kosberg is attached as executive producer.
The two scribes brought the pitch to Kosberg, who developed and exec produced the time-travel-themed “12 Monkeys.” Kosberg refined the pitch and in turn brought it to Shmuger and Art of War creative exec David Baird.
Belateche was repped in the deal by his agents at Endeavor, while Millsaps was repped by Marisa Johnston from Quality Artists. Kosberg, for his part, was repped by his attorneys at Bloom, Hergott, Cook, Diemer & Klein.
