Venetian gondoliers will be watching the skies when Wolfgang Petersen’s “Air Force One,” toplining Harrison Ford, touches down on the Lido for its European premiere at the upcoming Venice Film Festival, sources confirm.
Ford is expected to jet in for the midnight showing Sept. 1 to tubthump for the pic before heading for a London charity screening Sept. 4.
Produced by Beacon Pictures, distributed internationally by Buena Vista Intl. and domestically by Sony, the thriller will subsequently open the Deauville Film Festival on Aug. 30.
The full lineup for the Venice fest, which runs Aug. 27-Sept. 6, will be announced July 18 in Rome.
