HONG KONG — The city of Puchon, South Korea, will hold its first Puchon Intl. Fantastic Film Festival from Aug. 29 through Sept. 5.
“PiFan97” is only the second international film festival to be held in Korea. Puchon, which has a population of 800,000, is near the capital city of Seoul.
The non-competitive festival will feature works from 27 countries in 10 programs, with the theme of “Romance, Fantasy and Adventure.”
In addition to Korean fare and animation, the festival will salute Australian and Hong Kong films.
Hae-Seon Lee is the chairman, Chang-Ho Lee is the festival director and Hong-Joon Kim is the director of programming.
