On a windy night in L.A. Wednesday, L.A. Fox Inc.’s home page on the World Wide Web suddenly disappeared and was replaced by … a very strange reference to the network’s hit show “The X-Files”!
It’s all true, say Fox Webmasters: Netsurfers who browsed their way to the main network home page found, instead of the usual links to various shows on the web, this message: “Sorry, Scully, I can’t give you my heart ’cause it belongs to the beautiful, wonderful Heike and NOTHING can change it!” And instead of pointing to Fox’s TV show page, clicking on the Fox icon brought one to NBC’s home page.
Fox execs have no idea how it happened or how long the Web site had been thus hacked, but by noon Thursday all was back to normal.
The only question lingering is: Who, or what, is Heike? And is she any relation to the Smoking Man?
