MGM Home Entertainment has restructured its international sales and marketing operations to accommodate the division’s expanding global presence in homevideo and interactive software products, apportioning its overseas business into three regional target markets: Latin America, Asia/Pacific and Europe.
Robert Wittenberg, senior veepee for sales, will oversee the Latin American business. Lawrence Szabo, another vice president, has responsibility for the Asia/Pacific region. And newly promoted Julian Stanford, now senior VP, will manage the European, Middle Eastern and African business.
Also in the restructuring process, Blake Thomas, senior veep for worldwide marketing, will assume an expanded role, overseeing and coordinating marketing campaigns within the new regions.
MGM’s newest home entertainment businesses include the development of sell-through video in Asia and Latin America, and the introduction of the DVD in Europe, according to David Bishop, president of the MGM Home Entertainment unit.
