Buena Vista Home Video is adding ABC Video to its fold and launching an all-new ESPN-branded video line.

ABC Video and its various lines, including ESPN, now will have the marketing, distribution and promotional support of Buena Vista Home Video.

Meanwhile, ESPN Home Video will launch this fall with newly inked deals with the National Assn. for Stock Car Automobile Racing (NASCAR) and Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART). ESPN also will include in vid releases many facets of its programming, such as the popular SportsCenter news programs and nontraditional programming like the X-Games.

Dick Glover, senior vice president of ESPN Enterprises, said in a statement, “By combining the marketing savvy and unique distribution capabilities of (Buena Vista Home Video) with the reach and brand recognition of ESPN, we will create a powerful sports homevideo product.”
