TOKYO — Sony Corp. and Hitachi Ltd. were approved by the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and the Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE) on Monday as companies that will be listed for stock option trading as of July 18.
TSE and OSE each rolled out lists of 20 companies that will be listed for options trading. Kyodo News said the companies were chosen because of their annual trading volume, international name recognition, and number of shareholders. The stock options lists must be approved by the Finance Ministry.
Among the companies on the TSE list are Sega Enterprises Ltd., Canon Inc. and Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd.
Some of the companies included on the OSE list are Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., NEC Corp. and Nintendo Co.
