Alan Saffron, an Australian-born toy and entertainment entrepreneur, has announced the formation of Mastermind Entertainment, a production and management company.
Mastermind currently has five low-budget features and one TV project in development, including “Bury Me Standing,” set in Romania and budgeted at $5 million, with producers Joseph Zito, and Lou DiGiaimo, a producer on “Donnie Brasco.”
Saffron recently sold Puzzle Zoo, a specialty toy store. He started his career in the 1970s as a promoter, bringing entertainers to Australia. He came to the U.S. in 1978 and led a consortium that acquired Atlantic Entertainment, which produced more than 120 films during his tenure, including “1969” and “Teen Wolf.”
Mastermind also manages several actors, including karate champion Cynthia Rothrock, Alana Stewart and Lou Ferrigno.
