L.A.-based publicists Mark Pogachefsky and Rachel McCallister have formed a new joint venture, Pogachefsky/RMc, to handle feature film publicity in Gotham.
The new company formalizes a loose alliance between the Pogachefsky Co. and Rachel McCallister & Associates, which have shared office space in Los Angeles since 1992.
Pogachefsky and McCallister have teamed on a number of successful specialized campaigns, including “Muriel’s Wedding,” “Big Night” and “The Pillow Book,” with Pogachefsky handling L.A. press and McCallister handling New York.
“Our New York office will now mirror the Los Angeles’ office ability to serve the film, television and interactive industries through three boutique agencies,” said McCallister, who also is president of high-tech P.R. firm KillerApp Communications.
McCallister senior VP John Murphy heads the New York office for Pogachefsky/RMc. Nathan Nazario serves as director and Diana Peters is account supervisor for the new venture.
“This joint venture underscores our ability to provide unified film publicity services in both cities and establishes a Pogachefsky presence in New York,” said Pogachefsky.
The two companies will continue to operate as separate entities on the West Coast, with Pogachefsky concentrating on film and corporate publicity and McCallister focusing on television and general entertainment.
