With an eye to landing more film projects, Reba McEntire has tapped Creative Artists Agency for represen-tation in all fields. The pact, which moves the country music songstress from the William Morris Agency, advances the relationship CAA has had with McEntire’s Starstruck Entertainment management banner, which reps several other CAA acts.
The agreement, which closed two weeks ago but was officially announced Thursday, also gives CAA a piece of McEntire’s tour biz — after her current tour with Brooks & Dunn runs its course.
CAA’s Brian Lourd will lead the team of agents handling McEntire’s business.
McEntire has often expressed frustration to Daily Variety about the types of roles she is offered and wanting a larger film career; she recently starred in “Is There Life Out There,” a telefilm based on her hit song.
She also has appeared in “Tremors” with Kevin Bacon, and the CBS miniseries “Buffalo Girls,” which starred Angelica Huston and Melanie Griffith. Clips from her appearances in the pics frequently grace a segment in McEntire’s roadshow.
Starstruck also manages country crooner and CAA client Billy Dean.
