Harvey Ent. wins suit vs. ex-director

NEW YORK — Harvey Entertainment Co. said Friday it won $700,000 in damages in a suit against a former director, Jeffrey Franklin, and his company ATI Equities.

A jury in Los Angeles Superior Court found last week that Franklin and his company “willfully breached their fiduciary duties to Harvey” while Franklin was a director of the company between 1990 and 1993, Harvey said in a statement Friday.

Harvey sued Franklin in September 1994 for breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and “intentional interference with prospective economic advantage.” Harvey stock rose 25¢ to $13.37 Friday.
