MCA Music Publishing has tapped attorney and artist manager Stephen Finfer as veep/G.M. of its East Coast operation. The industry vet will be charged with boosting the publisher’s profile in the East.

Prior to joining MCA, Finfer was an attorney with a client list that included such potent industry names as Dr. Dre, Death Row Records and Selena.

As a manager, his Deluxe Management banner repped such artists as Fleetwood Mac and Ian Astbury.

“Stephen combines (a) wide creative knowledge with tried and true business experience,” said David Renzer, worldwide prexy of MCA Music Publishing.

Finfer also worked as director of business affairs for Capitol/EMI in its burgeoning special markets arm.

MCA has been on a fast track toward global dominance by recently inking several key deals, including pacts with Interscope Records, Epitaph Records and producer Glen Ballard.

It has also expanded its worldwide operation through personnel and talent acquisitions, while building a new office in Nashville and expanding its Los Angeles headquarters.
