Summit plans ‘Men’ launch

Summit Media is planning to launch a half-hour educational kids strip for fall 1997 called “Mr. Men.”

Based on the “Mr. Men” books, each episode will feature three separate animated stories and live-action segues. The show will be sold for three minutes of barter, said Shelly Hirsch, CEO of Summit Media, which is a division of 4Kids Entertainment.

Each of the stories encourages kids to understand and appreciate differences and commonalities between people of different genders, races and nationalities. “Mr. Men” joins Summit’s lineup of “WMAC Masters” and “Oscar’s Orchestra,” “Enchanted Tales,” “Mark’s Wired World” and the new “Sushi TV.”
